Sony ACID Pro

Sony ACID Pro places a complete digital audio workstation at your disposal. It includes a huge amount of audio editing tools, which can streamline multi-track recording and mixing, MIDI sequencing, looping or other music production activities. The software is intended to be a professional recording and mixing tool and to be accessible at the same time.

You can use Sony ACID Pro on Windows XP or any later version, up to Win 8. Its hardware requirements shouldn't be a challenge for any modern day computer. Furthermore, the setup file is fairly small for a program like this and it takes only a few minutes to complete the installation process.

Although the user interface seems overloaded and intimidating at a first glance, learning the layout of the controls and how to use them shouldn't be too difficult. When launched, the program will load a sample production automatically, to help you get started. Like other similar programs, Sony ACID Pro lets you create a large number of channels, for audio tracks, MIDI tracks or other contents. Also, each channels has a corresponding mixing panel, in the lower region of the interface.

Besides importing audio clips into a channel, it is also possible to record with a microphone, directly into a channel, even while playing other clips, which gives you numerous artistic possibilities. Each clip in its own channel can be controlled separately through its corresponding mixing panel. A wide range of special effects can be added as well, through various plugins.
